Along with the “to buy” items, Mirv also came up with a bunch of little suggestions… and here they are:
- Upgrade your Costco or BJ’s membership to the one that gives money back, you will pay for itself with the amount of diapers
- Research car seats/strollers – Look for the seat straps with clamps and quick releases – this saves a ton of time if you only have one car seat system
- Go with your wife to try out all baby equipment
- Don’t stock up on formula until you know what kind the kid will take
- Make sure to check the distance of the monitor in the kids rooms so you can hear them while they sleep and not just when the scream
- Remember – just say, “Yes Dear!” a lot
- Storage, storage and more storage – you will run out.
- Keep the families, unless requested by the Mom, out of the delivery room
- At the hospital, HUGE book of take out menus at the nurses station
- If the nurses ask if they can take the baby, let them and get some well deserved sleep for about 4 or 5 hours
- New moms have what they call, “Momnesia” it is the lack of sleep that keeps them remembering the details you need to remember for you..lol
